They’ve been teasing us for over a year now, but it looks like Rita’s is finally preparing to open. Next to Liberty Tree at 1014 H Street, NE, I’ve been watching workers paint and clean for a couple of months. Now the windows are covered but they’ve posted a sign with the email address for information on jobs at the store.
They’ll join the Philadelphia Water Ice Factory at 1204 H Street, NE, as purveyors of frozen comfort on hot summer days. But, as we all know, the PWIF is more than just ice; its a bevy of delicious street food served from a handy walk-up window. Oh, and PWIF is open until 4AM on Fridays and Saturdays to satisfy all your post-club cravings.
