The Philadelphia Water Ice Factory (1204 H Street, NE) reopens for the season today.  To celebrate, they’re offering free water ice all day.  And by all day, I mean until 4 AM.  Summer hours for PWIF are Monday-Thursday, 11:30 AM – 9 PM, Friday & Saturday from 11:30 AM to 4 AM and Sunday from 1-7 PM.  If you don’t want to have your dessert before dinner, they also offer Philly Cheesesteaks, pizza and hot dogs.  And for second dessert? Funnel cake!
