If your kids are closing in on the age when school is in the near future, you may look for options in the neighborhood before those pencils are sharpened.  You can enter the DC charter school lottery and hope for a low number, but you can also check out the many local private schools that also call the Hill home.

St. Peter School will be holding open houses for new students and their families on Wednesday, November 5 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. and Friday, November 7 from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.  Prospective families are invited to tour the school and meet with current faculty, staff and school parents to learn about this Catholic school that offers pre-K through eighth grade.  Applications are currently being accepted for pre-K through seventh grade.

Named a National Blue Ribbon School in 2013, St. Peter School offers a full academic curriculum based on Archdiocese of Washington standards, and students also participate in foreign language, art, music, physical education, and health and wellness.  The school offers a diverse aftercare program with a variety of academic enrichment options.

If you are interested in learning more about the school, please contact Mrs. Deirdre Schmutz at dschmutz (at) stpeterschooldc (dot) org or visit the school’s website.
