New Morning Farms “Watkins Market” Open Through the Winter on Saturdays

farm Starting tomorrow, New Morning Farms “Watkins Market” will operate all  winter at the corner of E and 13th SE. The organic farmers have the same wide and seasonal variety of items: broccoli, cauliflower, winter squash, lots of greens, tomatoes, peppers, sweet potatoes and regular potatoes, carrots and parsnips, and basics like onions and garlic. If there are still raspberries after this cold snap gobble them up while you can! There will also be new items like cheeses, breads, and baked goods, perfect to pair with the veggies for all the holiday cooking and warm stews to come.

New Morning Farm is a 95-acre certified-organic vegetable farm in south-central Pennsylvania. To improve local and organic produce marketing in the region, the farm’s owners Jim and Moie Crawford and neighboring organic farmers founded a wholesale marketing cooperative called Tuscarora Organic Growers Cooperative. The cooperative supplies the wide variety of items available at the market each week. The farm collaborates with FRESHFARM Markets on gardening and cooking programs at schools including Tyler Elementary, Watkins Elementary and Peabody Primary.
