ANC:

Meet the Candidates: Stacy Cloyd, ANC 6D02

We have offered to post brief statements from all of the ANC candidates running for seats on Capitol Hill and the surrounding neighborhoods that we cover here on The Hill is Home.  These statements are not endorsements and have been posted exactly as submitted by the candidates.

unnamed-1After filling the seat when it became available in the middle of the term, I am running for commissioner in ANC6D02.  This Single-Member District includes parts of the Southwest Waterfront and Navy Yard neighborhoods, and I’m glad to represent such a diverse and exciting part of town.  My background includes graduate degrees in law and urban planning, and I am a LEED Accredited Professional, so my academic background touches on many of the issues ANC Commissioners must handle.  During my time on ANC 6D, I have focused on public schools in the area, gaining expertise on the proposed changes to DCPS boundaries and assignment processes and helping ensure that the Appletree charter school stayed in the neighborhood–but one of my proudest accomplishments is ensuring that the dangerous and ugly gravel path north of the CVS was nicely paved.  I care about details, compromise, and listening to all members of the community, and am grateful for the chance to serve.  You can follow me on Twitter at @stacycloyd or on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/CloydforCommissioner and email me at 6D02@anc.dc.gov
