We have offered to post brief statements from all of the ANC candidates running for seats on Capitol Hill and the surrounding neighborhoods that we cover here on The Hill is Home. These statements are not endorsements and have been posted exactly as submitted by the candidates.
I grew up on Capitol Hill, right off of Lincoln Park, and moved to my current home in 6B03 in 2002. I have watched the neighborhood develop and evolve and want to help it continue to grow into a wonderful place to live in, visit, and to love.
I am running for ANC because I love this neighborhood and what it means to be part of a community. There are important decisions being made around our neighborhood I believe that we should all have a right to know about them and should able to have our voices heard. I am committed to keeping my neighbors informed through my blog, Facebook, Twitter and email lists. I vow to listen to all opinions and facts and to work with my neighbors to ensure that what the neighborhood wants is communicated to the rest of ANC and to the appropriate DC Government offices so we can make a positive change together.
Working on neighborhood issues is not a new thing to me. I have served on the ANC Retail Task Force, volunteered with CHAMPS, Barracks Row Main Street and numerous other neighborhood nonprofits and organizations. In addition, I am a founding editor for The Hill is Home, Capitol Hill’s neighborhood blog covering news and events.
