ANC:

Meet the Candidates: Christopher Miller, ANC 6C05

We have offered to post brief statements from all of the ANC candidates running for seats on Capitol Hill and the surrounding neighborhoods that we cover here on The Hill is Home.  These statements are not endorsements and have been posted exactly as submitted by the candidates.

unnamed-1My name is Chris Miller.  I currently work as an attorney at the Veterans Administration helping adjudicate appeals of veterans claims.  I moved to the neighborhood almost three years ago with my dog, a rescue pooch named Raul. Since that time, I have been amazed at how the H Street neighborhood has changed and grown.  I’m running for seat 5 on Commission 6C for three reasons.  First, I will make sure that the Commission disburses the money that the city has appropriated it for community grants.  Currently, there is an unspent balance of over $40,000 that should be used to make our neighborhood even better—it shouldn’t be sitting in a bank account.  Further, I will fight to represent the varied interests of our community with the Alcoholic Beverage Regulation Administration.  We need to maximize job growth and entertainment options, such as increasing sidewalk dining options, while also protecting our quality of life. Similarly, I make sure that our community is heard and respected as more and more residential and commercial developments begin construction.  Thanks for your consideration–I hope to have the privilege of representing you on the Commission.
