Northeast Library Book Sale Saturday

library

Volunteers make a lot happen here on Capitol Hill, and the Friends of the Northeast Library are friends you’d want to have. Hit their book sale this Saturday (the sale runs until 2 p.m.) and you’ll realize that not only are they generous to the library, passing along their well-priced books is another gift to the neighborhood.

Head to the library at 10:30 a.m. and you may see a line. These sales are that popular. You’ll find everything you could check out from the library, but you get to keep them! Walk away with a new collection of fiction, nonfiction, children’s books, DVDs and CDs. Plus, you’ll be helping fund programs and activities for all ages at the library.

The library’s activities go beyond book groups and story hours. The next event is their “Outdoor Picking Circle” hosted by musical group, The Gliders. This is an event held in the library’s garden (September 17 at 6:30 p.m.). Bring your fiddle, your banjo or your favorite tunes for an evening of music-making on the patio.

Also, for an additional selection of ridiculously well-priced books, you can make a monthly stop at the Southeast Library. The Southeast Friends host book sale there every second Saturday of the month.
