Greetings friends! Happy World Cup to you! When you’re not watching soccer here is a few suggestions on how to spend your time…

Tonight catch the opening night of Lisa Loomer’s Distracted by Arcturus Theatre Company at the Atlas.  The comedy tells the story of a family confronted by their son’s diagnosis of ADD.  The show runs through June 23rd and tickets are available here.

Friday evening is another session of Paint & Sip from 6:30-8:30pm at CHAW.  $30 for snacks, wine and materials. More information is available here.

The Hill Center is showing I Confess, the latest installment in the Twisting the Knife Series which explores Hitchcock’s scary love stories. The film begins at 7 and admission is free. Register here.

Saturday morning at 10:30, local kiddie music favorite Mr. Gabe performs at CHAW.  Suggested donation is $6. more information is available here.

Saturday evening is the opening night of SCENA Theatre’s production of Samuel Beckett’s Happy Days at the Atlas. The renowned dramatist’s absurdest comedy tells the story of Winnie a happy-go-lucky chatterbox trapped in a pile of sand.  Winnie is played by local theatre legend Nancy Robinette. The show runs through July 5th. Tickets are available here.

Sunday afternoon the Hill Center presents World on a String, a cross cultural concert featuring Master Musicians, GRAMMY®–nominated hip-hop artist Christylez Bacon, GRAMMY®–nominated Swedish fiddle player Andrea Hoag, Hindustani classical violinist Nistha Raj, Afro-Cuban percussionist Felix Contreras, GRAMMY®–nominated Native American cellist, vocalist, and improvisor Dawn Avery, and medieval viol player Tina Chancey.  These are all highly accomplished artists and we’ve hosted several at the Atlas so I am fairly certain it will be awesome.  The concert is free and begins at 4pm.  More information can be found here.
