Greetings Hill friends. What are your plans for the weekend? Some of you will have three whole days to fill so if you need some ideas…

Tonight check out Hawaiian band The Green at the Rock and Roll Hotel. Their sound draws on roots, reggae and R&B but filtered through their island perspective. Tickets are $18 and doors open at 7. More information can be found here.

Friday night acclaimed choreographer and artist Jonah Bokaer debuts a new work, Occupant,  at the Atlas. Inspired by Edward Albee’s play of the same name the piece was conceived with visual artist  Daniel Arsham and will have its official premiere in Miami. The show runs through Sunday. Tickets are $20-$38.50 and are available here.

CHAW holds another fun night of drawing and drinking, also know as Sip & Paint, from 6:30-8:30. More info is here.

Saturday afternoon Capitol Hill Books holds its monthly Saturday afternoon wine and cheese which offers opportunities for book lovers to sip, snack, mingle and receive 10% off purchases.

Saturday night Circus of the World and Clowns Without Borders hold a fundraiser for their venture Project Haiti, at the Trapeze School of NY. Both organizations bring their unique brand of circus arts to conflict zones to bring humor and thrills to the afflicted citizens. Because why not? The event begins at 9pm and costs $15. Sunday at the Fridge learn to create your very own comic book here. The free workshop is led by Asad Walker and runs from 1pm -3om. More information is here.

Sunday afternoon at the Hill Center Food and Travel editor of the Washington Post Joe Yonan chats with fellow foodie Bonny Wolf who is the Managing Editor of American Food Roots. Epect a wide ranging food-driven conversation inspired by Yonan’s latest book, Eat Your Vegetables. The talk runs from 4pm to 6pm and is free. Register ahead of time here to ensure your spot.

Monday night actress Kathleen Chalfont will present a staged reading of the late Lynn Redgrave’s autobiographical play Shakespeare for my Father which she wrote after being invited by the Folger to present an evening of Shakespeare and family anecdotes. She went on to develop and tour the play internationally. The performance begins at 7:30 and tickets are $20-$25. More information can be found here.
