Did you know? Americans plan to spend about $330 million this year on Halloween costumes for their pets. Well, we here at The Hill is Home would like to take credit for a piece of that pie.

You see, this is the third year that we are hosting our Halloween pet photo contest. It’s a prized title that only a few top dogs and cats hold… And, we’re still looking for that top turtle or hamster to win it all.

Basically, all you have to do is find a ridiculous costumes for Fido and send us a picture. Last year, more than 25 pets competed. This year we are hoping to top that.

So, how do you enter? It’s simple. Any pet is welcome to participate. No pets should be harmed by their costumes or forced into participating. All entries must be sent and emailed to THIHcontest@gmail.com by Saturday, Nov. 2nd.

Pets will be eligible for the following prizes:

  • Editor’s Pick (selected by THIH editors): Think your critter’s costume is the best on Capitol Hill? This winner takes home a gift card to Metro Mutts.
  • Readers’ Choice Award: You, the reader, decide by a vote. The favorite entry gets an assortment of pet prizes courtesy of Metro Mutts.

Readers will be able to vote for their favorite photos the week of Nov. 4th-8th. Winners will be announced right here on Monday, Nov. 11th.

Don’t delay! Enter today! Oh, and please read the fine print after the jump…
