Our 2012 readers’ choice pick, Chauncey the “Wide Retriever”
Our third annual Halloween pet photo contest is heating up. If you’re looking for an edge on the competition, be sure to pick-up a copy of Washingtonian and read about our tips on winning.
Remember, there are two prizes to win, courtesy of Metro Mutts.
So how do you enter? Just snap a picture, email it to THIHcontest@gmail.com and be sure to include your contacts with a title for the photo caption. Two prizes will be awarded this year:
- Editor’s Choice: Selected by THIH editors. Winner takes home a goodie bag of prizes from Metro Mutts.
- Readers’ Choice Award: THIH readers vote for their favorite. Winner takes home a $50 gift card from Metro Mutts.
Readers will be able to vote for their favorite photos the week of Nov. 4th-8th. Winners will be announced right here on Monday, Nov. 11th.

The Fine Print
Photos must be emailed to the official THIH photo contest address (THIH contest at gmail.com) no later than Nov. 2, 2013. Each submission should be provided in JPG or TIF format, no larger than 1 MB, and should be accompanied by the photographer’s name, email address, phone number, and mailing address. Only one photo entry per pet. You do not have to live on Capitol Hill to enter.
All judging decisions are final. Photos submitted to the contest will be added to the The Hill Is Home Flickr Pool. THIH reserves the right to use photos submitted in future posts on the website.
By submitting a photo entry, the submitter asserts the photo is his or her own work and that it bears no copyright. THIH staff and immediate family members are not eligible for this contest. THIH encourages free speech and dialogue. Photos containing questionable subject matter will be disqualified.
