If all goes according to plan, Bluejacket, the much anticipated brewery and tavern coming to the Boilermaker Shops at Yard Park, will be open in late-August, but that’s still not 100 percent.

Earlier today, the restaurant’s Twitter account (@BluejacketDC) posted that it will be open in late-summer. On Tuesday, THIH emailed Bluejacket, and a spokesperson confirmed the plan for a late-August opening.

Needless to say, Capitol Hill is eagerly awaiting what sounds like a great, if not complex and frankly almost too ambitious, concept.  The brewery is planning for 15 draft lines serving Bluejacket beer (plus some bottled brands too) and five guest taps that will change routinely, a Bluejacket spokesperson said.

As we dream of brews in our backyard, THIH will keep you posted on plans for an official opening. In the meantime, we’re going to condition our livers to make sure we can taste all 15 Bluejacket beers– perhaps not all at once.
