RIP Pablo the Cat

RIP Pablo the CatThere are cats and there are cats. Pablo, of 468 E Street, SE was a man about town, friend to all who passed by, and even greeted pals who waved from moving cars. Pablo died on May 12 after a short illness and if the obituary posted all over the 600 block of C Street is a testament to his popularity and devoted community, he will be missed dearly.

Found in a local parking lot, Pablo was adopted by Charles and Francisca in 1996. While he was a free-ranging cat, enjoying treats an lavish attention from friends on the street, he always returned home for dinner and his dreaded monthly flea medicine. He bore his abdominal tumor stoically and mustered his strength to remind neighborhood dogs who was boss.

Dear Pablo, may you pass on to a new neighborhood where there is catnip in every yard, sockeye salmon in your dish each night and nary a flea in sight.
