As much as I enjoy good quality beer or a really well mixed cocktail, I also really appreciate the kind of bar where I can feel completely comfortable in an old t-shirt with my hair up in a messy pony tail and no makeup on. The kind of place where I can get a beer for as little as $2 and drink it out of a can or a mason jar. If you hate on PBR, Miller or Bud Light, this match up is not for you…
This is the place where you walk in to see two people from completely different sides of the tracks bonding over the glorious taste of a cold cheap beer after a long day at their respective jobs…whatever they may be. “Who do you work for?” is not a question you will hear here.
In this match up, we are looking at two of my three favorite Hill bars that can fit that definition of a dive: Trusty’s and The Pug. One has old school board games and a school bus, the other has old stadium seats and a specialty punch that caused a little controversy. One serves beer in old Mason jars, and one serves cheese puffs instead of bar nuts. Both serve up cheap beer, good times and a laid back atmosphere. Now it’s time to pick your favorite!
