Twice a year, on Presidents Day and Columbus Day, the Library of Congress opens the Main Reading Room to the public.  The Thomas Jefferson Building is an architectural treasure that can stand hidden in plain sight of our busy day-to-day lives.

If you missed this month’s tour, visit our Flickr pool and explore some of the photos captured at February’s open house. Of course, photos never do the real thing justice. And, I’m willing to bet there are a few folks who have never stepped foot inside the library.

As Mr. Ferris Bueller once said, “Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.”

Go ahead, open up your calendar and set a reminder, eight months from now: Tour the Library of Congress on Columbus Day, October 14th.
