Northeast Capitol Hill Sees Second Armed Attack This Week

As D.C. police continue an investigation into the shooting death of Capitol Hill resident Jason Emma, more violence is being reported this week. On Wednesday night, police responded to an armed robbery six blocks from where Emma was killed.

The Washington Post reports that a 37-year-old man was held at gunpoint by another man with a semiautomatic handgun at the intersection of 8th and E Streets, NE. The robbery happened around 11:15 p.m. on Wednesday night, December 26th. An initial police report described the attacker as a black male, approximately six feet tall, wearing a black mask with all black rain gear and clothing, and driving a gold, two-door sports car.

According to the Post, police would not comment on whether there’s a connection between Wednesday night’s robbery and the Emma case. The motive in the Emma case is also believed to be robbery.

$25,000 reward is being offered to anyone with information that leads to an arrest and conviction in the Emma case. Call tip line (202) 727-9099 or send anonymous tips by messaging 50411.
