H Street is mourning the death of Joey Belcher today. Joey was found in his apartment Monday afternoon. He was 37, according to The City Paper. The cause of his death is still unknown at this time.
Joey was a partner in Sticky Rice and Dangerously Delicious Pies, in addition to the Chupacabra and Peanut Butter Jelly Time food trucks.
I knew him, although not super-well. He has been a part of the H Street family as far back as I can recall.
This summer, he and a few other folks at Sticky Rice were helpful to us at the Atlas when we partnered on our Kung Fu film series.
Joey was enthusiastic, not only about his own businesses, but also about the future possibilities of H Street. He will be missed. To leave words of support, please post a message on Sticky Rice’s Facebook page.
