Brent 2nd Annual Christmas Tree and Holiday Sale – Preorder Now!

November 23rd, 2012 by Tim Krepp · No Comments · Capitol Hill

Turkey finished? Macy’s Parade and football watched? Obscene and self-defeating shopping “tradition” ignored? Check, check and check!

Fair enough, Thanksgiving is officially over and even a curmudgeon like myself has run out of excuses to prepare for the holiday season. So with that in mind, Brent Elementary is hosting its Second Annual Christmas Tree and Holiday Sale, which will take place on Saturday, December 1st and Sunday, December 2nd (9:00 am – 4:00 pm) on the Brent playground.

If you pre-order by Sunday, November 25th, they’ll throw in a free toaster! Just kidding, but you will get free delivery. For more info, details from the press release are after the jump.

We’ll have a fun and festive atmosphere, with lively holiday music and hot cocoa, warm apple cider, Hanukkah potato latkes, and other yummy treats to get you in the holiday spirit. We hope you can join us on December 1st or 2nd.

Please go to www.brentstore.org to place your order! Orders placed by November 25th qualify for free tree delivery on Capitol Hill.

We are offering the following items.

  • Fraser Fir Christmas Trees (tabletops, 3-4 foot, 5-6 foot, 6-7 foot, 7-8 foot, 8-9 foot, 9-10 foot)
  • Douglas Fir Christmas Trees (6-7 foot, 7-8 foot, 8-9 foot)
  • Red, Pink, and White Poinsettias
  • Boxwood, Cedar, and Fraser Fir Wreaths (decorated and undecorated, various sizes)
  • Cedar and White Pine Roping/Garland
  • Door, window, and mantle swag
  • Winterberry
  • Gelt/Dreidel combo packs

The trees, wreaths, garland, and swag are from an award-winning, family-owned nursery in the mountains of North Carolina. This nursery won the grand prize for best North Carolina Christmas tree in 2011, and they took first prize in 2012 in the National Christmas Tree Growers Association competition in the fir category. By virtue of these awards, this farm has been selected to provide the Christmas tree this year for Vice President Joe Biden’s official residence at the U.S. Naval Observatory.

The grower takes great pride in ensuring that the trees are delivered fresh and in premium condition, within 2-3 days of being cut. A satisfied customer last year wrote us to say: “This is absolutely the most perfect tree we have ever had.”

We are offering these beautiful Christmas trees and other holiday decorating items at a fantastic price. Plus, 100% of the proceeds from your purchase will benefit theBrent PTA, which helps Brent students, teachers, and faculty by augmenting academic and extracurricular offerings, expanding field trip opportunities, and making improvements to the school grounds, with the goal of ensuring that every student receives the highest level of learning.

We ask you to please consider PRE-ORDERING trees, wreaths, garland and poinsettias at www.brentstore.org. All pre-orders receive the following benefits:

  • Free delivery of your tree within Capitol Hill during the weekend of the sale (you can select exactly which tree you want and we’ll deliver it to your house at no charge!)
  • Support for a charity program that will donate one tree to a local family in need for every 10 pre-orders that we receive
  • Ability to change to a larger or smaller tree during pick-up, in case you change your mind about size (you will pay the price difference if sizing up, or we will refund the difference if sizing down)

Pre-ordering will help the Brent PTA to better manage inventory and reduce waste. Trees and other items will also be available for purchase (without pre-ordering) on December 1st and 2nd, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.

For more information about the items available and to place your order, please visit the Brent online store at www.brentstore.org. If you have any questions, please email Kelly Sherman at sherman dot kelly at gmail dot com (sherman.kelly@gmail.com).
