Meet the Candidates: Ben Rosset, ANC 6A08

We have offered to post brief statements from all of the ANC candidates running for seats on Capitol Hill and the surrounding neighborhoods that we cover here on The Hill is Home.  These statements are not endorsements and have been posted exactly as submitted by the candidates.

My name is Ben Rosset and I’m running for ANC 6A08 commissioner. I’ve lived on the 1500 block of Constitution Avenue NE for over 5 years. I am running for commissioner and asking for your vote for three reasons:

  1. To ensure that the neighborhood receives the city services it is entitled to;
  2. To increase the quality of life for residents; and
  3. To make the neighborhood a safe place to live, work, and play for us and our children.

During the past five years, I’ve worked closely with my neighbors, the ANC 6A commissioners, MPD, and Councilmember Tommy Wells’ office on a number of issues, including:

  • Addressing drug and crime issues;
  • Working to re-open a neighborhood recreation center to benefit area youth;
  • Addressing blighted and abandoned properties;
  • Working to minimize pest (including rat) problems;
  • Traffic congestion and easing;
  • Litter and garbage clean-up;
  • Encouraging more retail and grocery/food options within walking distance in our neighborhood.

I encourage all ANC 6A08 residents to contact me with any questions you have for me or concerns you have about the neighborhood. Please contact me at rosset37@gmail.com, or via Twitter @BenjaminRosset.
Thank you for your support and involvement!

Sincerely,
Ben Rosset
