Good morning, Capitol Hill! We hope this finds you safe and well, with electricity and a dry house. As Hurricane Sandy makes her slow exit, it’s time to assess the damage, or to just get the heck out of the house to beat cabin fever. Before you head out, please use some common sense — the winds gusts are still pretty strong so staying put for a few more hours might be wise. When you do go out, watch for downed power lines and trees, take it slow, and stay out of the way of first responders and city workers.
Once you do go out, many Hill businesses are planning to open today, but not all. Fragers is open, regular hours, and while they are out of most batteries and flashlight, they will be getting a shipment in later today. Need more baking supplies? Stop by Hill’s Kitchen, which is also open for regular hours. Need more games and puzzles to get you through the day off? Labyrinth is open and ready to serve you! Capitol Hill Bikes and Metro Mutts also Tweeted that they are open regular hours today. And for your workout needs, Results the Gym is open, as is Capitol Hill Yoga. Please note that this is NOT an extensive list so if you know of other places that are open, please share in the comments!
