Ever have a crush on a house?  Don’t laugh – it can happen.

(Ed. note: Oh, how we’ve pined.)

One of my personal crushes, 28 9th St, NE, is on the market for the first time in 40 years and open this Sunday from 1 – 4 pm.  Listed at $1.8M, this elegant Second Empire style house (built in 1874)  stands out from its more “modern” Victorian neighbors.  Go inside and you’ll see it has retained a lot of the original period detail (high ceilings, plaster moldings & medallions, etc) but it is completely and beautifully renovated.  It has a rental unit with Certificate of Occupancy, garage and contains a total of 4 bedrooms and 3.5 baths.

The rest of the Capitol Hill open houses are posted here.

OMG. This is one of my biggest house crushes ever. From the outside. I missed the open house, but from the photos, I have to say, it’s a big let-down on the inside.
