From all of the political ads airing on TV and the radio you would think that Maryland’s Question 7 and the races in our neighboring states were the only ones in November (oh, and that race for 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, of course). But it turns out there’s a little election going on in your backyard that you should care about well. Your ANC Commissioners: they are your “official voice in advising the District government on things that affect their neighborhoods.”
We don’t have nearly as many contested races this year as we did in the last election, but there is a number of new faces on the scene and we want to help you get to know them all. In the coming weeks, we will be posting statements from each candidate — or at least those who choose to turn them in — so you can find out what each of these fine citizens plans to do as your Commissioner. (If you are one of the candidates, expect an email from us in the next week.)
