Nosy Neighbors

A regular roundup of interesting miscellany from our fellow neighborhood bloggers.

Bloomingdale has news about some of the vendors that will be in the new Union Market.  Local favorite Peregrine Espresso is on the list, along with Trickling Springs Creamery and several other delicious options.

Park View, DC has a story about how Memorial Day became a Federal holiday.  No word on whether burgers were grilled to celebrate the initial declaration in 1868.

Borderstan wonders if a change in taxi cab etiquette is even possible in this town.  Maybe Car2Go and Uber can shake things up?  I certainly don’t take a taxi in this town unless its absolutely necessary.

Southwest … the Little Quadrant that Could has news about some welcomed (and needed) big investments in its neighborhood parks.

The 42 Bus asks if Metro should sell naming rights to train stations.  Who would want to pay for naming rights for the stations in Wellslandia??  I think I could eventually get used to Eastern Market/Stanton-East Banc station.
