The Anacostia River

Are you a recreational user of the Anacostia River?
Do you paddle, boat, row, or fish on the Anacostia?

If so, you should plan to attend this open public forum on River Health and Recreation. A panel of public health and environmental experts will make a brief presentation, followed by an open question and answer period. The panel will feature government officials and health experts including:

Dr. Janet Phoenix, DC Environmental Health Collaborative
Dr. Sacoby Wilson, School of Public Health, University of Maryland
Collin Burrell, Associate Director, Water Quality Division, District Department of Environment
Donal Barron, Cost and Schedule Manager, DC Clean Rivers Project, DC Water

AWS is very interested in promoting healthy and safe recreational use of the river as part of our work to make the river an asset to its communities. Central to that work is a key group of people: those who already use the river! If you are a paddler, boater, rower or angler, we want to pursue an Anacostia River that is safe for your use so please plan to attend this forum and also spread the word to your community and fellow river users.
