Good morning everyone! So that was a weirdly spring-like weekend. We absolutely enjoyed the balmy temperatures but I couldn’t help feeling a nagging “we’re all going to pay for this later” sense of eventual of doom. But nevermind!
So how did you spend this fine January weekend? Biking? Strolling Gardening? Patio-dining?
Maria tried Boxcar and may be in love with their charcuterie plate–or it could just be a very delicious dalliance. She’s also been speaking all hoity-toity like because she watched A LOT of Downton Abbey in between cartoons, walks, and building of LEGOs.
Jon spent a good portion of the weekend de-Christmas-ing the house inside and out (and is almost done). Sunday got us out of the house a bit with an impromptu trip to the Natural History museum, ending the day with dinner at H Street Country Club and dessert at Dangerously Delicious Pies.
Jen: Friday night was spent watching every Portlandia episode ever made. Saturday was filled with cleaning, purging and organizing. The kids were invited to a last-minute sleepover which freed us up to get a fantastic late dinner at Toki Underground. Sunday began with Ashtanga at Yoga District on H, a stop at Hill’s Kitchen for a new cake pan, a pilgrimage to Whole Foods for Gluten free lasagna noodles and feeding said noodles to in laws for dinner. She shooed all the boys in her house to bed by 9 so she could watch Downton Abbey all by herself.
Claudia discovered the upstairs bar at Lavagna on Friday night. Saturday she took advantage of the nice weather by taking a long walk around Yards Park with the dog, followed by a run along the river. After catching up on season one of Downton Abbey, she headed out to VA for dinner with friends. Sunday was chores, some office work, a very late brunch in NW, followed by an epic Jenga match, and then some downtime with the roommates, dog and Sunday night TV.
Yay for Downton! And the upstairs bar at Lavagna! Can’t wait to try Boxcar
