People who don’t shovel snow from their sidewalks (including sidewalks adjacent to their easements) so the disabled and elderly (who have paid or asked someone to shovel their own sidewalks) have to ask neighbors to get their medications and groceries for them.

People whose shrubs overhang their yards and cover half the sidewalk, making it difficult for those in wheelchairs to get by. Plus there’s the grime buildup underneath.

People whose tree branches are lower than 5’6″ over the sidewalk, because I hate ducking.

These are repeat offenders who can afford corner houses and are able-bodied or solvent enough to have these things taken care of.

At least one neighborhood church is actively encouraging illegal parking (blocking crosswalks, SIDEWALKS, fire hydrants, and complete travel lanes) by handing out restaurant-style pagers to alert members in case of parking enforcement.

In the name of neighborhood relations we’ve always accepted the occasional and extreme parking overload of out-of-towners coming to our area houses of worship, but I recently saw a young mother with her stroller in the street because she couldn’t get to or use the walkway and I say: ENOUGH!

Darsal, I would have to completely agreed with that: behavior that forces others to behave in a dangerous or endangering manner on the street needs to stop.

Dog owners who put bags of dog doo in my trash can. Why not put it in your own trash can instead of leaving it for me to dispose of?

please for the love of god put a stop sign on mass ave NE and tenth street. we have ALL signed the petitions and have watched stop signs go in all over but not there…..anyone?
