Monday Morning Circle Time

Good morning! Are you finally done with the leftovers? There comes a point when one just can’t eat another bite of cranberry and they just must be thrown out.

Thanks for taking time out of your busy online shopathon today to read our little blog.  If you had a four day weekend I hope it was enjoyable and relaxing and that you were neither trampled or pepper-sprayed in your attempts to snag a deal on a 3D TV.

We had some unseasonable balmy temperatures this weekend which had everyone out and about around the Hill to enjoy the Small Business Saturday events although more than one friend reported a mosquito sighting.

This is traditionally the busiest travel weekend of the year, did anyone brave the airports, Amtrak or {shudder} I 95??

Jon: Friday was spent with family taking in the Muppet Movie and an exhibit at the National Building Museum, avoiding all Black Friday shopping completely.  Saturday we indulged in some shopping, mailed a letter to Santa, visited said Santa, and enjoyed lefotvers from Thanksgiving. Sunday morning brought us to Eastern Market for breakfast at Tortilla
Cafe and then off to the U.S. Botanic Garden to see the holiday exhibits.

Lauren: Had a fabulous Thanksgiving with my family who came down from to DC from MA. Ran the turkey trot, ate more than any one person should, laughed, played with the 3 dogs in attendance and walked around the Hill in great weather. And I didn’t have to travel anywhere!

Sharee: After a super early Saturday beating traffic on I-95, we got back home in time to have morning coffee and stroll around Eastern Market before the crowds.  We met some friends for dinner and attempted to swing by the newly refurbished Tune Inn but it was way too crowded.  Instead, we hit Mr. Henry’s and then got a behind-the-scenes sneak peek of the Christmas windows at Coldwell Banker next door.  Sunday brought with it brunch at Pound. (Have you been yet? You must go!) Then a stop by Frager’s to supply our afternoon of cleaning up the garden for winter.  We finished just in time to catch dinner at Sonoma before seeing Othello at the Folger.

Jen spent a relaxing weekend here in DC. After cooking Thanksgiving for 10 on Thursday she did very little besides catching the new George Clooney movie and the Andy Warhol exhibits. Sunday she dragged the family to Great Falls for a hike on the Billy Goat Trail with 3 million other people. She’ll take traffic jams on the rocks over traffic jams in Delaware every time.
