Shameless pandering, you say? Not so, dear readers: it IS fun to give, and today is as good as day as any to do it! Today is Give 2 the Max day across the region, and what better way to insure that you continue to have fun at amazing places like the Atlas Performing Arts Center, the Joy of Motion or the United States National Arboretum and their Youth Garden than to contribute financially and/or raise awareness of their need? Of course, if you’re not into supporting fun, you can also donate to worthwhile charities such as SMYAL, the William Penn house, the Capitol Hill Group Ministry, Horton’s Kids and other local non-profits in our area. I guarantee at least a frisson of excitement when you click the mouse anyway. You cannot escape the fun of giving, as hard as you may try.
My goodness, people: they make it so easy to donate so you can continue to have FUN, they even let you connect with Facebook! This serves a double purpose: first, you can stop bragging about your Mexican riviera vacation or your adooorbs children and brag instead about how generous you are. You are like a budget Medici! Second, you can shame your skinflinty friends into giving, too! That way you look awesome AND virtuous, and everyone loves a humblebraggart, right?
But seriously, folks: charities and non-profits need your support; you, in turn, need charities and non-profits so you can have FUN.
And please consider the added texture the word “seriously” adds to a post about FUN.
