Weekend East City Event Round Up: Halloween 2011 Edition

Saturday October 29

Monster Mash (10am to 5pm)

Artist cooperative Albus Cavus brings a whole new spin to Halloween on Capitol Hill this year.  Join them for an afternoon of face painting, costume making, skateboarding and general fun.  Also, help paint a mural under the Southeast-Southwest Freeway. FREE.  For additional details, click here.

Liz Lescault Xenophilia (3pm to 5pm)

OK, if Halloween is not your thing there is another event for you.  Sculptor Liz Lescault, mastered the art of repeated glazing and low firing during an extended residency in Africa.  Lescault’s mastery of her new found skills has resulted in the production of an exquisite body of work whose sculptures could seemingly be found in nature.  FREE. Gallery OonH (7:30pm to 10pm)

Gallery OonH finishes off their Courtyard Concert Series with the John Stone Reggae Band.  This will also be an excellent opportunity to view the gallery’s permanent collection of carefully curated outsider art.  $5 COVER  For additional details, click here. This event has been canceled

Sunday October 30

 Tilted Torch Spook-o-Rama at the Red Palace (Performance Starts at 9pm)

Performance artists Tilted Torch should fulfill your “unearthly needs” this Sunday with a Halloween themed Variety Show.  The event takes place at the Red Palace, made up of the former Palace of Wonders and the Red & the Black.
