For the seventh year, the Capitol Hill Garden Club is giving away free spring-flowering bulbs for use in public spaces on Capitol Hill. The area included in the giveaway is the geographic jurisdictions of ANC 6A, ANC 6B, and ANC 6C. (Roughly, 6th NW to RFK, NY Ave/Fl Ave to 395 – if you think of yourself as the Hill, then you’re probably eligible.) Daffodils and crocus bulbs have been chosen for the giveaway as they come back and proliferate every year.
Applicants should include a plan for planting, which must be visible from the street. The plan must also designate the person responsible for the planting. Individuals and groups are invited to apply. Applications are due by September 15 and the bulbs will be distributed in October.
