THIH Bake Sale This Saturday: Because There Just Aren't Enough Sweet Spots on the Hill

Photo by María Helena Carey, who will be wielding Capitol cookie cutters for a good cause.

The Hill is Home wants to help you prepare for the total over-the-top sweets saturation that’s quickly developing on 7th and 8th streets. By fall, there will just be too much for one sweet tooth to enjoy: 32 Below, Pitango and Spring Mill Bread Company will soon unite with Hello Cupcake and the Sweet Lobby in their effort to banish bikinis locally and subsidize gym memberships.  But this weekend we’re happy to expand on the variety of choices you have, right at the market.

Come see us at Eastern Market on Saturday from 10-2  at our first bake sale. Under our tent in front of the temporary structure (or, known in my house as ‘the enormous tent I wish they’d repurpose’) THIH-ers will be sharing delights from our own kitchens and raising funds for the Capitol Hill Community Foundation. We’ll have pies, cakes, muffins, cookies, etc. and even special treats for the gluten-free among us. We haven’t forgotten our favorite neighbors: dog biscuits are in the works too!
