If you’re a fan of reality TV and food porn, mark your calendar for Saturday, May 28, and Sunday, May 29.  “Top Chef: The Tour” will be rolling into Eastern Market for a veritable Food-a-palooza, complete with cook-offs between participating chefs.  The event will also include demonstrations, raffles, games, and chances for photos and autographs with some of your favorite former “Top Chef” contestants.

According to the event website, there will be three cooking demonstrations each day.  Seats will be available each of the two days the event lasts on a first-come, first seated basis; however, a small number of seats can be pre-reserved online.  As of press time, the seats for the DC date were not yet released.

“Top Chef” is the cooking competition show on the Bravo network that has made celebri-chefs out of local restaurateurs Spike Mendelsohn, Carla Hall, and Mike Isabella among many others in its eight seasons and counting.

More information can be found on the Tour’s Facebook page.

Getting there from outside the immediate area could be challenging. That’s the weekend that the Eastern Market metro station is closed (as well as all of the blue and orange line from Federal Center to Minnesota Ave./Benning Rd.)

And the streets will be full of motorcycles and road closures, for those of us with cars.

I live a few blocks away and will hopefully have a front row seat…thanks to the metro closures and the motorcycles.

Did anyone go yesterday? Is it possible to get seats without advance tickets? Thanks!
