Get Artsy for a Cause at Two Rivers

This Saturday, May 14th, Two Rivers Public Charter School hosts its 7th annual art gala, Framing the Future.  Billed as “an evening of art and music supporting the Two Rivers community,” the event raises money for the students and programs of this school, which opened its doors in 2004.

The evening will begin at 6:30pm with cocktails on the roof of the middle school at 1234 4th St, NE and will migrate across the street to the elementary school to continue the evening’s festivities.  For your ticket, you’ll be treated to live music while you peruse the art, donated by 20 artists, available in the silent auction — plus you get to hobnob with said artists.  There’s also a raffle with some amazing prizes.  I just may trade my yearly Starbucks budget for a chance at the first prize stay in a colonial home in San Miguel Allende, Mexico.

The event is “black tie for the brave,” and offers complimentary valet parking.  For more details and to buy tickets, check the event’s website.
