Last year we wrote about the coming of Crepes on the Corner, a neighborhood eatery at 15th and C Streets SE that would offer sweet and savory crepes as well as coffee, homemade soups, and sandwiches. Many of us were very excited about the opening of an actual restaurant in the Hill East area. We were also not surprised to hear that like many other new eateries in the neighborhood, Crepes on the Corner was entangled in red tape from the DCRA.
On Monday I received word from co-owner Marc Ross that Crepes on the Corner has received approval from DCRA to commence construction. Ross said he anticipates about 6 weeks of work on the interior of the space and is hoping for a soft opening at the end of March (barring any major construction delays or more hoops from the regulatory folks). If all goes well we may get a new neighborhood cafe by spring!
