If you live along East Capitol between the Armory and Lincoln Park, you may be awakened Saturday morning by the music of a military cadence. The DC National Guard Run will start at 7AM and finish up by 7:30 or 8AM. Around 500 members of the local unit will be taking part in the training run, which will start at the Armory and continue down East Capitol with the flow of traffic, around Lincoln Park and back to the Armory.
The event is designed to have minimal impact on the neighborhood. There won’t be any closed streets, but MPD will block intersections on a rolling basis as the unit progresses along its route. You may hear some chanting, but just think of it as a lullaby for your late morning nap.
