Monday Morning Circle Time

Barrack's Row Festival

This weekend really had something for everyone. Saturday gave us record high temperatures and a (hopefully) last blast of summer.

Then came Sunday with it’s cooler, rainy day vibe. It gave the perfect excuse to stay home and clean out closets, bake cookies or watch endless hours of football. Or at our house some version of all of the above.

Kind of the perfect weekend really.

THIHers, what did you do?

Claudia: I spent Saturday at the Barracks Row Fall Festival, had brunch at Chesapeake Room on Sunday morning, went to the Nats game on Sunday afternoon, and enjoyed some play time in the Yards Park with my niece and nephew after the game.

Kyra: We caught a game at Nats Park on Friday. On Saturday we took a nice long walk, stopping at the Market and then the Barrack’s Row Fall Festival before heading to a birthday party in Hill East. On Sunday we enjoyed a day of rest in our Hill home.

Tory: I got home laaaate Friday night from an all-day meeting in Florida. I woke up early to volunteer with the Barracks Row crew, then met up with my hubby to celebrate my birthday on 8th Street with lunch at
Zest, a few beers at the Belga Biergarten and a tour of the Commandant’s house. Spent Sunday at Ikea and attempting to clean the house. I loved the cool breeze blowing through the house today!

Maria: Started off the weekend seeing Easy A and drinking a Lavender Vodka at Wisdom.  Enjoyed barracks Row Fall Festival on Saturday and took a lot of pictures there.  Had a lovely, dainty dinner somewhere off the Hill (gasp!) and then spent all Sunday relaxing and grumbling about football.

Jon: Saturday was spent enjoying the warm sun at the Barracks Row Festival and looking after our friends’ kids for the afternoon.  Sunday was a day of errands and chores around the house, but ended with a quick trip to Sweetgreen for frozen yogurt.

David: Spent Friday night enjoying free corkage at Charlie Palmer’s. Spent Saturday in Baltimore, Sunday on the golf course, and Sunday night at Lola’s on Barracks Row.

Nichole: I was supposed to be camping this weekend, but ended up having to stay home, so I slept on Friday. Saturday I went to the Barracks Row Fall Festival, then to friends’ houses. Sunday was brunch at Chesapeake Room then Eastern Market for an architecture tour of the Market followed by dinner at a friend’s in (gasp!) NW

Jen: Saturday was spent shuttling children to, and then watching them perform in their various sporting activities. We ended up missing Barrack’s Row fest entirely due to exhaustion and a visiting grandparent. Sunday we took full advantage of the rain and stayed home cooking and cleaning. Ended the weekend with my awesome, award-winning chili.
