It’s going to be another long season for the Redskins and their fans, isn’t it?  Watching them blow a 27-10 lead was about as painful as paying $8 a beer at FedEx Field.  And that was after being one of the lucky few to purchase water before they sold out.  Yes, on an sunny 85 degree day, they neglected to stock enough water for a “sell out” crowd, and there isn’t a water fountain to be found in the stadium.  Oh how I miss RFK.  Okay, rant over and onto the links from the last week.  Because, despite the loss, it was a pretty perfect weekend in town.  Gorgeous weather, great events, a great end to the summer.

  • Frozen Tropics and Reliable Source reported that the police responded to the Conner Contemporary Art Gallery due to a complaint about naked people running about…said nudists were part of an art exhibit.
  • Greater Greater Washington and Prince of Petworth give great review of the new Yards Park.  If you haven’t stopped by yet, do so while the weather is nice — they did a fatalistic job and I cannot wait to see how it looks in a few years when more of the development is complete!
  • JD Land reports that ANC6D has agreed to support a name change proposal for the Navy Yard Metro Station.
  • Palace of Wonders and The Red and The Black bar are merging to become The Red Palace, according to Frozen Tropics.
  • H Street Great Street and DC Metrocentric have the scoop on Arboretum Place, located at 1600 Maryland Ave, which just broke ground.
  • Spotted: Governor Jesse Ventura at Capital City Diner.  (via @CapCityDiner and Frozen Tropics)
  • We Love DC checked out the Biergarten Haus.
  • Frozen Tropics shared a long list of other H Street reviews from other sites.
