Hill Buzz

With Restaurant Week, H Street Restaurant Week, the approach of Beer Week, Hill and Go Seek, and multiple other fun events that we’ll be telling you about in the To Do List, you are facing more excuses than you can count to experience corners of this neighborhood that you have some how not visited yet. It’s okay to admit — some of us Hill natives have managed to never experience some of the neighborhood’s best hidden secrets. So do yourself a favor and use this August lull at work to get out there and try some new things. And while you make your list, here is some light reading to get you through your morning.

  • DCist checked out Temporium, which ended this past weekend. Did you miss it? Fear not, H Street Festival is right around the corner!
  • The Arugula Files has been all over the Hill! After checking out the H Street Farmers Market, she checked out breakfast at Ted’s Bulletin.
  • Washington Post‘s Tom Sietsema also checked out Ted’s Bulletin, enjoying my favorite meal: breakfast for dinner.
  • In light of the start of an ANC election season, I had to share this exchange between the ANC commissioner in Rosedale and the Kingman Park/Rosedale Community Garden Co-Coordinator. (h/t Rosedale Citizens’ Alliance).
  • Metrocurean reported that Capitol Hill’s Peregrine will be opening another location on 14th Street.
  • Greater Greater Washington and Prince of Petworth reminded us to hurry up and sign up for Hill and Go Seek!

RE: Rosedale and Kingman exhcange. My cucumber vine is quaking in fear now, in its uncontaminated (one hopes), little community garden now for fear these politics will spread here.
