DDOT Historic Photos of Barney Circle

DDOT recently published more than 150 historic photos of DC streets on its Flickr page.  I love getting a glimpse at what the city looked like 50 and 60 years ago, and thought I’d share a few from our neighborhood, starting with Barney Circle, circa 1948-1960.

wow… the freeway and ramps have had such a huge impact. Now it’s just totally un-walkable and barren. I think I liked it better circa 1948.

How was the land used to the lower right of the last photograph (where the highway is now, south of K)?
