Just in time for their fifth anniversary, Trusty’s roofdeck opened quietly, and somewhat unexpectedly last night. The official opening is tonight at 5, and it’ll be open all weekend for all of your Fourth of July drinking needs. The roof has a bar and a few tvs, for your all of your sports viewing needs. Oh, and it’s a BUS. (Sorry, I don’t have a picture – you’re going to have to see this for yourself!)
The roof does not afford views of the fireworks on Sunday, but it’s a great spot to grab some beers before and/or after America Day explosives. See you on the roof tonight!
A bus?
What a great addition to an already great bar as well as another boon for a fantastic neighborhood.
Now, if they will only get some sort of restaurant opened in the corner lot where the former convenience store was located. Then we can really start transforming this block(s) of Pennsylvania Ave.
Yes Jon, a bus.
Seriously, go see it. It’s awesome.
A bus. Woah. Gotta check it out I guess.
I just got home from spending most of my evening on the Trusty’s (BUS) roofdeck. I took a couple of pictures, which you can find on my twitter feed. (www.twitter.com/nicholeaileen)
I have to say, this is probably my new favorite spot to drink on the Hill. And, the bus? You’ll have to see it to believe it!
Trusty’s also has some pictures up on their website now: http://trustysdc.com/busbar.htm
We went there last night. No one would ever like it, so please don’t go down there and ruin that it’s great, still has a great staff, and is not uncomfortably crowded.
To repeat: Pay no attention to this post; this is not the bar you’re looking for.
But will I still reek of grease afterwards?
I spent several hours on the roofdeck on Friday night and went home odor-free!
