A 45-year old woman was fatally stabbed on Monday night at 11:50 pm on the 1600 block of E Street NE. Police responded to the scene and found Theresa Hungerford lifeless in or near her home (unclear from reports) — a victim of stab wounds.
This murder was one of three that occurred in the District on Monday. The other two occurred earlier in the day in parts of Northwest. Monday brings the year-to-date total of murders in the District to 69, still down from this time last year by about 16%.
Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the police at (202) 727-9099 or 1-888-919-CRIME (1-888-919-2746). Police are looking for any information that can lead to the perpetrator of this crime, and there is a reward for qualifying leads.
