Peter Bug day is an annual tradition on Capitol Hill, taking place at the Peter Bug Shoe Repair Academy at 13th and E Streets SE and the adjacent Watkins and Buchanan Parks.

Celebrating “Unity in the Community,” this year’s party will feature a parade starting at 10 am beginning at 19th and E Streets SE (in front of Congressional Cemetery) and ending at the Peter Bug Academy.

The day will also include:

  • Games
  • Horse Riding
  • Live Music from Noon to 6 pm featuring Doo Wap, R&B, Gospel and Herb (of Peaches & Herb, who is a former MPD 1 police officer!) The line up also includes the Velons, the Marquees, Father’s Children, Al Johnson and the Unifics and the Winstons.
  • Children’s activities throughout the day!
