It’s time for your weekly dose of buzz from around the internet! Now that the snow has finally melted away and the next storms have graciously missed our region we can finally move on to talking about something other than the weather. Spring break is just around the corner, as is a whole list of springtime events around the Hill and the rest of the city. We’ll be greeting new restaurants, festivals, the annual garden tour…the list goes on. Get ready to break out your calendar because we’ll be bringing you information on a ton of great events in the coming weeks.
- According to City Paper’s Loose Lips and The Washington Post, a group of ministers has petitioned the IRS to take away the federal tax-exempt status of the infamous C Street House, “the Capitol Hill domicile of big-shot conservatives ‘an exclusive club for powerful officials…masquerading as a church’ for the tax benefits.”
- H Street Great Street covered the first and second weekends of Intersections. This weekend is your last chance to check it out!
- Nichole and I got a lesson in mixology at Wisdom with the We Love DC crew and their closest friends.
- Need to reserve spots in front of your house for a move or construction project? The process for getting those “Emergency No Parking” signs has changed. Greater Greater Washington has the details about the online-only process and fees. Those signs you can buy at Fragers are not actually valid, and you are limited to reserving two spaces.
- Capital Cooking has some details on the soon-to-open Ted’s Bulletin.
- District Tattle reports that We The Pizza, Spike’s new pizza place, will open by the end of the month, while NBC 4 is reporting it will mid-April…either way, we’re getting another pizza place soon! I just want to know when the SE side of the Hill will get a good sushi restaurant.
- Results The Gym won NBC 4′s Golden Local Contest for the best gym over Gold’s Gym.
