Don’t forget to time your travel around the State of the Union speech today. There’s sure to be beaucoup traffic, lots of influence wielding VIPs in big cars, metro rerouting and camera crews everywhere. And be sure to juice up your phone for tweeting your friends and rating the plays from the podium. You could even stock the TV tray with an Obama burger from Good Stuff. And of course there’s the State of the Union drinking game, a la Huffington Post.

Thanks to our friends over at We Love DC and Washingtonian, here’s a short list of local spots you can catch coverage of the speech and watch right along with rapt staffers and media junkies. Let’s hope there aren’t too many standing ovations, cheap pitchers of quality beer, and quality recaps by the industry’s more thoughtful commentators.
