Food: The Gift That Keeps on Giving

Gift-giving: it’s hard.

I don’t mean this to sound as the ultimate cop-out, but if you find a little relief in my words, so be it.  Let me be clear: anyone can give a gift.  But how many people can claim to have given a truly great gift, or have received one in return?  Everyone can recall at least one horror story built around a bad present exchange, especially when romantic dates such as Valentine’s day roll around: the awful jewelry for an important birthday; the gadget that sat gathering dust on a shelf; the tickets to a cultural event which the recipient had no interest in, whatsoever.

But leave it to the creative, talented team over at Art and Soul to come up with the perfect present for anyone this Valentine’s day: the gift of good food.

On Saturday, January 30th, Art and Soul will be offering a special Valentine’s-inspired cooking class.  It will be a four-course menu created by Executive Chef Travis Timberlake and Chef de Cuisine Mike Kraus, and it includes salmon, duck, and all manner of delicacies. Pretty much, if it sounds fancy, you will learn how to cook it.  If you would like to sign up to impress your sweetheart — or if you would like your beloved to learn to cook as a present to humanity — please click here and have a wonderful Valentine’s day!

The details, again: Art and Soul’s Men’s V-Day Inspired Cooking Demo happens on Saturday, January 30th, Noon – 2 pm, $50.00 per person.  Art and Soul is located at 415 New Jersey Avenue, NW.
