Hill Buzz

image uploaded by BrunchGirl on Flick

We certainly got hit with a heck of a snow storm!  I have always loved the Hill when it’s covered in snow, and it seemed even more beautiful with the snow covering all of the Christmas lights.  We now have to deal with the great dig-out and would like to make yet another plea to the folks who have yet to shovel their sidewalks.  Really people, step up and take care of it already to make the side walks safely passable for your neighbors, mail deliveryman/woman, etc. Christmas is only a few days a week and you don’t want Santa to leave you a lump of coal, in exchange for being an inconsiderate neighbor, do you? And if you have an elderly neighbor or one who you know is out of town, get yourself some good-karma points and shovel their walks for them. I’ll get off my soapbox now and share some of the more fun Hill links from the past week.

  • DC Metrocentric has an update on Canal Park.
  • C Street, NE Project is apparently glad to see the Nationals’ Express Buses end next year.  JD Land has the press release and information on the lowered parking prices for the lots near the ballpark.
  • City Sifting reviews Little Miss Whiskey’s.
  • Bon Appétit listed Peregrine Expresso as one of the 10 best boutique coffee shops in America (Via Young & Hungry)
  • H Street Great Street reported that Joe Fengler, who represents ANC6A-02, is moving out of the area he represents, so his seat will soon be opening up.
  • The Washington Post covered the recent carjackings on the Hill, which we reported on last week, as well as in October.
  • I’m not quite sure what to say about this video from City Desk interviewing Tommy Wells, but I had to share.
