Come to the Eastern Market Metro Plaza this Thursday at 5:30 pm for the 3rd Annual Capitol Hill Holiday Tree Lighting. Join neighbors and community leaders as Kathy Didden flips the switch for this year’s tree in honor of her late husband, George Didden III. Hot beverages, music, and cheer will help kick off the holiday season on Capitol Hill.

I can’t wait for the day when it becomes acceptable to say Christmas again. It’s just a Christmas tree; it won’t bite anyone.
The big tree on the Ellipse is called the National Christmas Tree. That’s what it said in the MPD traffic alert yesterday.
Or you can walk over to see the Capitol Christmas Tree. Yep, official name. It will be lit next week.
