No matter how well you plan and delegate, it is inevitable that you wake up on Thanksgiving morning and realize that you needed one last item from the store.  Or maybe your pie burned and you need to buy all of the ingredients again (don’t laugh, this happened to me last year). Or maybe you just need one more bottle of wine because Aunt Irma decided to show up unexpectedly – the extra wine can be for you or her, depending on the relationships you have with your family…

Don’t panic – Capitol Hill Businesses have you covered!

  • Hill’s Kitchen will be open from 9 am until 1 pm.  This is the perfect spot for last minute hostess gifts, and, of course, anything you need for your kitchen as you cook up a Thanksgiving feast.
  • Marvelous Market will be open from 7 am until noon, and will have a bread delivery in the morning, as well as their usual assortment of wines and side dishes.
  • Peregrine will be open from 8 am until 1 pm, because a coffee break away from the big family gathering is always in order.
  • Cornercopia will be open from 10 am to 3 pm with their great selection of wine, beer and various grocery items.
  • Harris Teeter will be open from 7 am until 2 pm
  • Safeway will be open from 7 am until 5 pm
  • Yes! Organic Market will be open from 7 am until 1 pm

And if you’re looking for a place to watch the game or grab a few post-feast drinks, check out Nichole’s guide to Drinking Your Thanksgiving on the Hill.
