Bank Robbery at Chevy Chase Bank

336 Pennsylvania Avenue S.E - Google Maps.jpgWe’re a little behind on our reporting on this but on Monday at about 1:15 pm I received an automated text alert from Alert DC that there had been a bank robbery on the 300 block of Pennsylvania Avenue, SE.

Local news outlets did not seem to pick up the story, but we now have some more information from Commander David K. Kamperin of the First District.  If you have any information on the incident, please contact the police.

On Monday, November 21, 2009, at approximately 11:40 am. The subject shown below entered the Chevy Chase Bank at 336 Pennsylvania Avenue, SE and presented a note demanding money. The bank employee complied and the subject
left the bank with money belonging to the bank.

The subject is described as a 50-60-year-old black male with a dark complexion, approximately 5’8”- 5’9” in height, with a thin build. The subject was last seen wearing a white shirt and tie, wire framed glasses, black skull cap, black 3/4 length leather coat, black gloves and was carrying a black bag.

The MPD offers up to $5,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any unsolved robbery committed in the District of Columbia.
